Holmarc's motorized actuator is meant for replacing a drive micrometer in translation stages for automated positioning. The diameter of its collar is designed to be equal to that of a standard micrometer head for easy replacement. The device consists of stepper motor coupled to a lead screw-nut mechanism. When the motor rotates, lead screw moves linearly. Precision ground lead screw ensures equivalent accuracy of a micrometer head. Resolution and sensitivity is better than standard micrometer.
