Holmarc provides a wide range of optical sources and detectors for optical experiments and research. Mounts and holders in a variety of designs are available for all these sources and detectors. Commonly used sources and detectors stocked by holmarc are described in this section. In most cases, mechanical mounting required are also described. Lens Kits

Holmarc’s BK7 lens kit contains forty common lenses with 25mm diameter or thirty-two common lenses with 50mm diameter. The lenses are made of N-BK7 substrate that provides high transmission for visible to near infra-red region.

Fused Silica Lens Kit

Holmarc Offers Fused Silica Lens kit with forty common 25mm diameter lenses or thirty-two common 50mm diameter lenses. As the substrate material is Fused Silica, the lenses features high transmission for ultraviolet to near infra-red region.

Achromatic Lens Kits

Achromatic lenses are designed to limit the effects of chromatic and spherical aberration. Holmarc’s achromatic lens kit provides a convenient selection of thirteen 25mm diameter achromatic lenses or ten 50 mm diameter achromatic lenses.

Lenses

Plano Convex Lenses

Plano-convex lenses are positive spherical lenses having convex surface on one side and flat surface on the other. These lenses find applications in collecting, focusing and collimating light.

Bi - Convex Lenses

Bi-convex lenses are positive spherical lenses having convex surfaces on both sides. Holmarc manufactures bi-convex lenses with equal radii on both sides as standard stock optics.

Plano Concave Lenses

Plano - concave lenses are negative spherical lenses with one concave surface and one flat surface. These lenses can be used to expand light or to increase the focal length of an optical system.

Bi - Concave Lenses

These lenses have spherical concave surfaces on both sides. Holmarc manufactures many of these lenses as standard products. These lenses find applications in expanding light or in increasing focal length of an optical system.

Meniscus Lenses

Positive meniscus lens is a convex-concave lens thicker at the center than at the edges. It is used to minimize spherical aberration. When used in combination with another lens, it will shorten the focal length, and increase the NA of the system.

Cylindrical Lenses

Cylindrical Lenses are well suited for applications that require magnification in one dimension only. Cylindrical lenses are available in either plano-concave or plano-convex configurations.

Achromatic Lenses

Achromatic lenses can be used as collimators, focusing lenses or light collectors. They are designed to eliminate chromatic and spherical aberrations and perform well for all paraxial imaging tasks.

Prisms

Right Angle Prisms

Right Angle Prisms are used to re-direct a beam of light at 90 degrees from the incident direction or used as 180 degree beam retro-reflector. We offer these prisms uncoated or with five different coating options.

Dove Prisms rotate an image without deviating the beam in such a way that the image rotates at twice the angular rate of the prism. Holmarc offers Dove prisms with single layer anti-reflection coating on end faces.

Penta Prisms deviate an input beam by precisely 90°. In imaging applications Penta Prism will neither invert nor reverse the image. These prisms deviate a beam through same angle regardless of its orientation to the beam.

Equilateral Prisms

Applications of equilateral Prisms are to disperse or break light into its spectral components. These prisms are available from Holmarc either uncoated or single layer antireflection coated on faces.

Wedge prisms find its main application in steering light beams. Two wedge prisms of equal power, used together can steer input light beams within a narrow cone. Wedge prism produces a small deviation to the light beam.

Rhomboid Prisms

Rhomboid prism is used to displace the incident beam without affecting the image orientation. This prism can be used to displace the optical center line and the displacement is equal to the length of the prism.

Pellin Broca Prisms

Pellin Broca prism is a constant (90°) deviation dispersive prism. These prisms separate light beam of multiple wavelengths to single wavelength. Pellin Broca prism's incidence angle is Brewster's angle

Windows

Rectangular & Square Windows

Optical Windows allow light beam to pass from one medium to another without changing the wavelength distribution or the transmitted wave front of the beam. Ideally, optical windows do not scatter light out of the beam.

Circular Windows

These optical windows are precision manufactured using N-BK7 and Fused silica. We can also work with substrates proposed by the customer .

Optical Flat

Optical Flats are used with monochromatic light to measure the surface flatness of other optical surface by interference. Holmarc’s optical flats are extremely flat on one or both sides. Holmarc offers two type of Fused Silica Optical Flats

Beamsplitters

Plate Beam splitters

Plate beam splitters find applications in splitting or recombining a light beam. The front surface of our beam splitter has coating with metallic or dielectric thin film and its back surface has an AR coating.

Dichroic Beam splitter

Dichroic Beam splitters are long pass and short pass filters that combine or separate beams of two different wavelengths. Holmarc's dichroic beam splitters make use of multilayer dielectric thin film layers

Infrared Plate Beam splitter

Holmarc's Infrared beam splitters use Zinc Selenide or Calcium Fluoride substrates and make use of multilayer dielectric thin films for broadband infrared applications. The back surface of our beam splitter has multilayer anti-reflection

UV Plate Beam splitter

Holmarc uses UV grade Fused Silica substrate for manufacturing UV plate beam splitters. These offer high transmission in deep UV regions and have lower thermal expansion coefficient.

Laser Line Non-Polarizing Plate Beam splitters

Our 45° Laser Line Non-polarizing Plate beam splitters find applications to divide the incident laser beam into two without changing the incident polarization characteristics in reflected and transmitted beams.

Metallic Cube Beam splitter

Holmarc's Metallic cube beam splitters consist of two right angled prisms cemented together. The hypotenuse of one prism has a combination of metallic-dielectric thin film coating. These are low polarizing beam splitters

Dielectric Cube Beam splitters

In our Dielectric Cube Beam splitters, the hypotenuse of one prism has multilayer dielectric thin film coating. The function of dielectric coating is to divide the incident beam into two equally transmitted and reflected beams over a broad range

Non - Polarizing Cube Beam splitters

Holmarc's Non-polarizing Cube Beam splitters consist of two precision right angle prisms cemented together. The hypotenuse of one of the prisms has a combination of metallic - dielectric thin film coating.

Polarizing Cube Beam splitters

Polarizing Cube Beam splitters split the S - and P - components of a randomly polarized incident beam into two linearly polarized output beams separated by 90 degree.

Laser Line Polarizing Cube Beam splitter

Laser Line Polarizing Cube Beam splitters find applications in splitting randomly polarized laser beam into S- and P- polarized components; p-polarized components gets transmitted through while s-polarized components gets reflected at 90 degree.

Variable Beam splitters

Our Circular Variable Beam splitters find applications in splitting an incident beam into transmitted and reflected beam. The intensity ratio of transmitted and reflected beams are controllable over a wide range.

Beam Samplers are used to pick off a sample of light beam by using the Fresnel reflection from the uncoated surfaces. Beam samplers are used for monitoring applications where disturbance of the transmitted beam

Filters

Neutral Density Filters

Holmarc offers two types of Neutral Density Filter sets; Absorptive type and Reflective type. Absorptive Neutral Density Filters attain functions by absorbing light and Reflective Neutral Density Filters functions by both reflection and absorption.

Variable Neutral Density Filters

Our Circular Variable ND filters provide continuous variable attenuation by rotary positioning of the filter. Front side of the variable filter has Inconel thin film coating. Back side has antireflection coating to reduce unwanted reflective losses.

Band pass Interference Filters

Band pass interference filters pass wavelengths within certain range and reject the wavelengths outside that range. Holmarc's band pass filters make use of multilayer dielectric thin film coatings.

Narrow Band pass Interference Filters

Narrow Band pass Interference Filters find applications in transmitting or blocking a narrow specified region of the UV to NIR spectrum. Holmarc's narrow band pass interference filters make use of multilayer dielectric thin film layers.

Long pass Filter

Long pass filters attenuate shorter wavelengths and transmits longer wavelengths. Substrate material used for our long pass filter is UV grade fused silica. These filters have hard dielectric interference coatings

Short pass Filter

Short pass Filters attenuate longer wavelengths and transmit shorter wavelengths. Substrate material used for our short pass filter is UV grade fused silica. These filters have hard dielectric interference coatings on the front surface

Mirrors

Plano Aluminium Mirror

Aluminium Mirrors offer high reflection throughout ultraviolet, visible and NIR regions. The mirror coating consists of an Aluminium layer and a very thin protective coating. Custom sizes and flatness are available other than standard models.

Plano Silver Mirror

Holmarc's silver coated mirror exhibits high reflectance compared to aluminium coated mirrors. Custom sizes and flatness are available other than standard...

A concave mirror is a spherical mirror with reflection surface bending inwards. Concave mirrors produce both real and virtual images. These mirrors find applications in laser beam concentration and quality imaging.

Broadband Metallic Mirror

Broadband metallic mirrors provide high reflectance for a particular wavelength region. Holmarc's broadband metallic mirrors make use of dielectric layers along with metallic coating to increase the reflectance

Broadband Dielectric Mirror

Broadband dielectric mirrors produce high reflection over a broad wavelength region. The front surface of this mirror has multilayer dielectric coating to achieve high reflection throughout the specified wavelength range.

Diffusers

Our diffuser diffuses or spreads out or scatters light to make it soft. Holmarc’s ground glass diffusers are available in fine, medium and coarse grade. Typical applications are in screens, illumination etc.

Polarizers

Linear Glass Polarizers

Our linear glass polarizers offer a high-extinction ratio and the convenience of a polarization axis reference mark. With randomly polarized incident light, a single polarizer transmits 25 ± 2% over the visible spectrum of 400 to 700 nm.

Linear Film Polarizers

Commercial-quality film polarizers are available. These linear polarizer have 25% transmittance for unpolarized light. Two sheets crossed have an average transmission of 0.04%.The sheets are neutral gray in color.

Beam Expanders

Condenser is a combination of lenses with a short focal lengths used for concentrating a light source onto a small area. These lenses are mounted in a black anodized aluminium casing.
