September 19th - "Installation of Visible Hyperspectral Camera" at Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences, Coimbatore

We are pleased to announce the successful installation of our newly developed Visible Hyperspectral Camera (400 - 800 nm range) at Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences, Coimbatore.

This advanced imaging system is specifically designed for applications in agriculture, material characterization, biomedical imaging, and environmental monitoring, where visible spectral signatures are critical. With a spectral resolution of ~1 nm and the ability to capture both spatial and spectral information simultaneously, the system provides a complete hyperspectral data cube for detailed analysis.

The installation was carried out for Dr. S. Rajesh, Professor and Head, Department of Applied Physics, who has been instrumental in supporting this deployment.

This milestone highlights our commitment to delivering state-of-the-art hyperspectral imaging solutions for research and industry.


August 30th - "Installation of SWIR Hyperspectral Imaging Camera" at Ramdeobaba University, Nagpur

We are delighted to announce the successful development, installation, and delivery of our SWIR Hyperspectral Imaging Camera at Shri Ramdeobaba College of Engineering and Management, Nagpur, on 30th August 2025.

We thank Dr. Manoj B. Chandak (Dean Academics & Head, Computer Science and Engineering Department) for giving us the opportunity to develop this advanced system. The installed system is designed for coal grading and classification with advanced hyperspectral analysis, offering :

    Accurate coal type differentiation - anthracite, bituminous, sub-bituminous, and lignite.
    Real-time moisture monitoring - identifying absorption bands linked to water content.
    Mineral mapping - detecting quartz, kaolinite, pyrite and other impurities influencing combustion.
    Energy content correlation - reducing dependency on destructive lab testing.

This successful collaboration underscores our commitment to delivering next-generation imaging technologies for real-world industrial applications.


July 15th - "Industrial Scale Needle-less Electrospinning Machine" Installation @ SASTRA Deemed University, Thanjavur

We are proud to announce the successful installation of India's first indigenous Industrial Scale Needle-less Electrospinning Machine at SASTRA Deemed University, Thanjavur on July 15th. This machine was jointly developed by SASTRA Deemed University and Holmarc, and is supported by the Ministry of Heavy Industries, Government of India. The INE1000 FibSpinner is a high-capacity, needle-less electrospinning unit engineered for industrial-scale nanofiber production. Designed with a bottom-up spinning approach, the unit enables the uniform coating of nanofibers on substrates up to 1000 mm wide using a roll-to-roll mechanism. Unlike traditional needle-based systems, the INE1000 employs three stainless steel thin-slit spinneret rods to facilitate needle-less electrospinning, significantly reducing clogging, maintenance, and downtime. Each spinneret is fed by an independently controlled peristaltic pump system, offering precise control of flow rate and uniform fiber distribution. This milestone highlights our commitment to delivering state-of-the-art solutions for nanofiber research and industry.

Light Beam Induced Current (LBIC)

Light Beam Induced Current (LBIC) is a valuable tool for defect analysis in solar cells used to measure the spatial distribution of recombination active defects in solar cells. It works by illuminating a laser beam onto a solar cell and measuring the resulting current.Read ±

The current is higher at locations where there are more recombination defects, so by scanning the laser beam across the solar cell, a map of the defect density can be created. Our instrument uses three lasers with wavelengths of 405nm, 532nm, and 655nm to measure the spatial distribution of recombination active defects in solar cells. The different wavelengths allow us to probe different depths within the solar cell, which helps us to identify defects that are located at different layers.

Fluorescence Imaging Microscope

Model FIM5000S is a powerful & versatile fluorescence imaging microscope that can be used for a wide range of applications. Microscope has the option of using a fluorescence laser, which can be useful for exciting a wide range of fluorescent molecules.Read ±

It is equipped with a variety of features that make it ideal for high-resolution imaging, including an infinity corrected optical system, a confocal pinhole, a 4K imaging camera, and a cooled housing.

Application

Biology : The microscope can be used to visualize fluorescently labeled molecules in cells and tissues. This can be used to study a variety of biological processes, such as cell division, protein expression, and gene function.

Biochemistry : The microscope can be used to study the structure and dynamics of biomolecules. This can be done by labeling the molecules with fluorescent probes and then observing how they interact with each other.

Pharmacology : The microscope can be used to study the effects of drugs on cells and tissues. This can be done by labeling the cells or tissues with fluorescent probes and then exposing them to the drug.

Materials science : The microscope can be used to study the properties of materials at the nanoscale. This can be done by labeling the materials with fluorescent probes and then observing how they interact with light.

Automated High Resolution 500F Spectrometer

HOLMARC’s Spectra Quasar Series Monochromators Model : HOSP-SQR500FA is a fully automated, triple grating instruments with dual output port, designed for fast, automated and continuous scanning over broad spectral range.Read ±

The angular position of the grating is adjusted by the use of sine drive mechanism. Its output port is equipped with a Thoshiba 3648 pixel spectroscopic line CCD camera. 0.017nm spectral resolution is achieved.

Magnetic Tweezer Setup

Magnetic tweezers are a type of micromanipulator that uses magnetic fields to apply forces to objects. Magnetic tweezers can be used to apply forces to DNA molecules, which can be used to study the mechanical properties of DNA.Read ±

HOLMARC magnetic tweezers setup consists of an inverted microscope stage with a CMOS camera, Motorized NdFeB rotator and a piezo driven XYZ stage. The stage is used to project the image of surface-tethered beads onto the camera chip. The beads are coated with DNA molecules, and the magnetic tweezers are used to apply forces to the beads, which in turn applies forces to the DNA molecules. The piezo driven stage is used to precisely move the sample relative to the magnetic tweezers.
